First time thematic exhibitors often have unsettling experiences because they have not followed the specific rules, but once these are understood, the exhibit usually goes from strength to strength.
It is one of the most challenging and therefore stimulating and interesting of the philatelic disciplines in which to exhibit.
Not only must the exhibitor have a deep knowledge of the chosen theme but a wide philatelic knowledge to select material to illustrate that theme. However, that knowledge is easily available today. It comes through contact with other thematic collectors and by reading widely. |
