The Canberra General Post Office (GPO) was opened on 12 April 1983 by the Minister for Communications, Mr Michael Duffy.

It is located at
Alinga Street,
Civic, Australian Capital Territory (ACT) 2600.

On the first floor is the Australia Post Philatelic Exhibition.

The Canberra GPO (post code 2600) replaced the old Canberra city GPO (postcode 2600) which was renamed Queen Victoria Terrace Post Office 2600 on the 1 February 1983
