The postal administrations of the Australasian colonies sent preprinted Christmas cards to their colleagues in other overseas administrations after joining the Universal Postal Union in 1891. In 1914 the 1d recess King George V stamp was used on a special card. After 1975 Australia Post issued cards for use by its employees with the Christmas stamps of that year printedSinside. Rarer are the same cards with actual stamps stuck in.
However individual postmen apparently issued cards. I can well remember our “postie”
in Bellevue Hill in the 1950s taking back a cart full of beer bottles, but “Bob” from the Enmore area at about the same time actually had his thank you cards specially printed.
